Although nothing has been more popular with the investment community than Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2024, the euphoria about stock splashes, demonstrable, can give AI a run for its money.
A stock split is a tool that has listed companies at their disposal that gives them the option to adjust their share price and outstanding stock count with the same factor. Keep in mind that stock splits are pure surface -crabs and have no influence on the market capitalization of a company or its operational performance.
Most investors tend to companies that announce forward stock splits. A forward split is designed to reduce the share price of a company to make it more affordable for retail investors and/or employees who do not have access to fractional approach with their broker. This type of split is almost always announced by companies that surpass and innovate their competition.

On the other hand, investors usually prevent companies that complete reverse stock splits. A reverse split strives to increase the share price of a listed company, with the aim of often ensuring a continuous mention on a large stock exchange. The lion’s share of companies that perform reverse splits do this from a position of working weakness.
In 2024, slightly more than a dozen leading companies announced or completed a stock split. Only one of these most important companies completed an inverted split and It is the stock that I have used for more than mid-April.
Although inverted stock splits takes place all the time, no more was expected in 2024 on Wall Street than the recent split of satellite radio operator Sirius XM Holdings(Nasdaq: Siri).
In mid-December, Sirius XM announced that it would merge with the Sirius XM tracking stock from Liberty Media, Liberty Sirius XM Group, to eliminate the confusion and share price variant caused by several classes of ordinary shares. Prior to their combination, which came into force after the end of the trade on 9 September, Liberty Sirius XM Group shares were enormously better than the shares of Sirius XM during the following.
But in addition to this merger, Sirius XM announced a 1-out-10 reverse stock split (even after the end of the trade on September 9), which reduced its outstanding stock count from almost 3.4 billion to a little north of 339 million.

The company counts on these promotional listeners to become self-paid subscribers. If fewer cars are sold, this means less chance for Sirius to convert promotional users into paying subscribers.

I also started to appreciate the somewhat predictable cost structure of Sirius XM over the years. Line articles such as equipment costs and transmission costs will not change much or at all, regardless of how many subscribers Sirius XM sign up.
But the primary artificial bait, at least at the moment, must be the historically cheap appreciation of Sirius XM. Even with the revenue growth that is currently stagnating, shares are valued on a forward year income several of less than 8, which is almost a low point since the company became public in September 1994.

Some women in Memphis registered Tennessee a rage -exchange where one driver started attacking the other car with the help of an ax of all things. That visual material has become viral, with news stations throughout the country pick -up of the story. It is understandable why because we usually do not see AX attacks during an anger fight.

In the video of mobile phones you can see that the man takes a few swings in the Xterra before he turns around and runs away. Allegedly the man fled the stage on foot and the police are looking for him.
It is unclear whether the police know who the man is. We would assume that he is the registered owner of the Impala, but with how unbridled car theft is in Memphis, that is a whole assumption.
During the attack, the woman openly wonders why the other driver is not starting alone. Maybe the Nissan was eliminated by the crash? Or has the person perhaps been to shock? We don’t know, but it seems strange.
Fortunately, nobody was reportedly injured in the crash or the AX attack. We look that people are seriously injured when axes or knives are produced during an anger fight.

While the medical community monitors the risk of bird flu outbreaks for people, health influences claim that black seed oil – an extract from a bush that grows all over the world – can protect against bird flu. This is not substantiated; Some studies suggest that it can have health benefits, but it is not approved if treatment for every disease, and medical professionals say that it should not replace antiviral medicines.

To prevent bird flu, Blumberg advised personal protective equipment (PPE) for people who work with animals to lower the risk of exposure to infected liquids. “It has not yet evolved into an efficiently transferred human-and-human pathogen,” he said.
According to the American Centers for Disease Control, human vaccination against bird flu is not recommended at the moment (archived here). Although Health Canada says that there is a low public risk for the pathogen, it has bought 500,000 doses of GSK vaccines for human birds (archived here).
Blumberg explained that human cases of bird flu can be treated with antiviral medicines such as Tamiflu and supporting care, including additional oxygen if a patient has problems with breathing (archived here and here).
David Cennimo, assistant professor of medicine and pediatrics at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (archived here), agreed that even if there is a potential for black seed oil to treat bird flu and other diseases, clear and generally accepted evidence is lacking.
“Some authorities about alternative medicine suggest that robust studies must be carried out,” said Cennimo in an e -mail of 25 February. “I tend to give that approach.”
Cennimo said that he had not found any significant toxicity of black seed oil, but still recommended users to check negative interactions between supplements and prescribed medication.
He also said that common antiviral agents used against the flu had already turned out to be effective against the current tensions of Aviaire Influenza and that he would rather treat someone with medication that has been evaluated in “well -designed studies”.
“I warn individuals not to leave a proven benefit for an uncertain claim about black seed,” he said.
Robert Hopkins, medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Disease in the United States (archived here), also discouraged the use of black seed oil for bird flu and recommended recommended exposure to exposure to animal fluids and consulting a health star for guidance and treatment.
“Scientific studies do not support the use of black seed oil as a treatment for bird flu,” Hopkins said in an e -mail of 25 February. “Antiviral flu medicines such as Oseltamivir, however, are effective in the treatment of bird flu and new vaccines are being developed,” (archived here).
Drug instructions
Health Canada told AFP that black seed oil is a regulated natural health product (NHP) in Canada and that the agency had authorized two formulations that used it in combination with other substances for general health maintenance products (archived here and here). However, it does not recognize black seed oil as a reliable treatment for bird flu.
“Health Canada has not seen any evidence to suggest that black seed oil works to cure diseases such as bird flu, and the department did not receive or authorized the use of an NHP for the treatment of bird flu in humans,” said Mark Johnson, a spokesperson for Health Canada, in e -mail of 25 February.
Johnson said that selling or advertising unauthorized health products in Canada is illegal.
The US Food and Drug Administration has issued at least two warnings to sellers of products with black seed oil about unproven claims that their stock healed, prevented or treated disease (archived here and here).

When this future passes, Deloitte believes that the total hydrogen demand in 2050 will surpass $ 1.4 trillion. But the growth should pick up much earlier than that. According to estimates, the demand between now and 2030 could double, with the total market value reaching $ 642 billion.
The hydrogen market seems to be a big gamble for investors who are willing to be patient. But is Plug Power shares a good way to take advantage of this chance of several decades?
Hydrogen can indeed have a huge long -term promise. But investing in the industry is a much different challenge. The situation is very similar to other capital -intensive, renewable energy companies such as electric vehicles. The demand of hydrogen will almost certainly increase in the coming decades, although the exact scale and speed of that growth will remain very uncertain. But plug capacity remains needed billions in new capital to remain competitive. Although it has so far survived about the dilution of shares and government subsidies, so that it can gradually expand its sales basis, losses have taken away possible profit for shareholders.
This issue – that market growth simply occurs too slowly for shareholders to win – will not disappear quickly. Goldman Sachs recently estimated that plug capacity has a sharing time of 25.8 years. In a sense, Plug Power shares are such as buying a bond that has not been mature for several decades, making the share price very sensitive to changes in interest rates and shifts in the competitive climate. Could plug capacity become a trillion dollar stock by 2050? The answer is almost certainly no. The total market size in 2050 will only reach around $ 1.4 trillion. And which companies or technologies will win is currently impossible to know. The only thing we know is that investments in competing technologies are rising, just as the research and development budget of Plug Power is starting to stagnate.
In 2023, Plug Power received a notification from Goight Concern from its accountants, warning for potential insolvency if it has not raised a new capital. This financial stress will not disappear quickly and the further revenue growth will probably be canceled by more share dilution. For the time being, plug power seems to be ready to survive and potentially become a larger player in the wider hydrogen market. But investors – even those who are willing to accept more risk of more returns – have to look somewhere else.

TF Sport and Chevrolet did it. The Corvette Z06 GT3.R has officially conquered the FIA World Endurance Championship and claims its very first series victory in a Qatar 1812 km battle. Behind the wheel of the No. 33 Corvette dedicated Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar and Ben Keating a spectacular comeback and stormed from the 13th on the schedule to take the checkered flag with less than half a second.
This was not just a victory – it was a statement. The new GT3 Challenger from Corvette Racing had already bent his muscles by winning the GTD class victory over the Rolex 24 in Daytona, and now it has added a FIA WEC trophy to its fast -growing collection. For Juncadella and Edgar it marked their first triumph in both the WEC and a Corvette, while Keating, once the endurance racing veteran, won his eighth WEC victory -four of those with America’s favorite sports car.

In 2018 I noticed that I gave a keynote speech in Boston about guilt feelings to a room full of female entrepreneurs. In my speech I said:
“I would rather be a current mother 2 hours a day than a distracted mother for 4.”
A woman came to me after the conversation and said this was her Lightbulb moment. She realized by spreading herself too thinly, nobody got the best version of her.
And this happens in many scenarios:
Check slack while eating with our family
E -Mails send during the gym
Twitter scrolling while he tries to decompcrimage on the couch
In my master class I learn the 5 Cs of lost time.
C #1: Cognitive overload → try to remember too much
C #2: Context switch → try to do too much
C #3: Consumer diet → try to consume too much
C #4: Chaos → Lack of organization
C #5: Calendar Crawl → unrealistic expectations
Let’s concentrate on #2: context switching
On average, people need 9.5 minutes to return to a productive workflow after switching between apps or tasks. Let’s look at a visual of how we lose time by switching context.
So how do we solve it?
Enter: the focus formula
The focus formula is taking all your cognitive sources and placing a single source or task. Others can call this undivided attention.
“That’s nice. But I have so much on my plate and everyone always needs me.”
I hear this a lot in my coaching sessions.
My challenge for you is to understand why you don’t feel that your goals or needs are just as important as someone else’s.
Weak limits are a form of people who like it.
A person’s inability to close distractions (for fear of a text, e -mail, weak, etc.) is usually a fear of losing the love, attention, validation or needed from that person.
If this ping something for you, then it might be a sign to stay here and really sit with it.
Ask yourself who that has modeled that for you.
Who taught you that your needs come in second place?
Ready to take your goals back and apply the focus formula?
Let me introduce you …
The an hour challenge.
For the month of May I challenge you to choose one thing that is important for you that you think you have not received your undivided attention.
Examples:
That project that you want to send this year.
Deepen your relationship with your children.
Strengthening your relationship with your partner.
Invest in friendships.
Choose something that you notice that you say: “If things slow down, I will concentrate on that”
Pause here.
Do not continue until you have the thing in your head.
Do you have it? OK.
Let’s concentrate.
Step 1: Plan it on your agenda
Choose a time that you can keep most days. Depending on the item you have selected, your time slots can vary.
For me – I immediately go to the gym after I drop the children and train from 8.30 am – 9.30 am before I am sucked into meetings or e -mails.
Step 2: Close it.
When that time comes, it’s time to close everything.
Ask yourself: what distracts me the most when I try to concentrate?
Now closed. It. Out.
I keep my phone on “Amanda Mode”, so that only the school, partner and parents of my children can reach me. Everything else has been silenced.
If you are working on a project, you close all non -related tabs.
Even e -mail. Yup, slack too.
Switch off everything that is not related to the project.
If you are working on being more present with your children, remind yourself that it is an hour. You sit with them and play with them for an hour and you can wait all the other.
Step 3: Set a timer
Believe it or not, one of the biggest distractions
We look and start calculating minutes until the next task. We start to think about the next job, e -mail or project. We have lost the focus formula because your sources are no longer only focused on the thing for you.
So set a timer for 60 minutes and go to work.
Where the focus goes, energy flows.
Stop allowing the needs of others to distract yourself from the thing that you find important for the month.
